AbstractThe characteristic length scales in supersonic combustion and the related influence factors were calculated and analyzed. In addition, using the hydrogen, ethylene and kerosene as fuels, the operating range of scramjet under the practical flight conditions indicated by the typical flight map was calculated. At last, the applicability of flamelet models for the numerical simulation of supersonic combustion was discussed.
