AbstractVortex dislocation in wake:flows is a kind of complex three-dimensional phenomena. How to describe and understand the generation, structure and dynamics of vortex dislocation are challenging problems. In this work a direct numerical simulation of the temporal-spatial evolution of a wake-type flow is performed based on the DNS of the three-dimensional incompressible Navier-Stokes Equations by using the compact finite difference-Fourier spectral method. The development of vortex dislocations and the vortex linkages is detailedly studied by analyzing the substantial modification of vorticity field and vortex lines. The formation and the dynamical process of vortex dislocations are described.
